The Alberta Healthy School Community Wellness Fund is a joint initiative between the University of Alberta’s School of Public Health, Alberta Health and Alberta Education.

The Wellness Fund advances comprehensive school health by funding projects that enhance health and wellness among school-aged children and youth to create sustainable healthy school communities.

The Wellness Fund enables school communities to infuse wellness into the culture of their schools by focusing on the provincial priority areas of healthy eating, active living, positive social environments which includes healthy relationships.

The Wellness Fund is not accepting grant applications at this time.

The Wellness Fund is delighted to announce that Dr. Patrick Carney will be hosting a Social-Emotional Learning event on May 11 in Calgary and May 12 in Edmonton!

In his role as Chief Psychologist, Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board, Dr. Carney works with students, teachers, and their parents to develop positive mental health using many evidence-based strategies outlined in his text, Well Aware - Developing Resilient, Active, and Flourishing Students

The presentation will provide you with research-based evidence, tools and strategies to help create a culture that supports students' in practical and effective ways.
